Broughton Construction Company, LLC has received the award from DGS to renovate the Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services (DYRS) Gymnasium and Courtyard. The DYRS facility is a 24 hour secured facility. The renovation project is a fast track project to be completed within 120 days.
Scope of work includes but not limited to renovation of existing hardscaping and landscaping at the exterior Courtyard, new flooring replacement in the residential pods and interior renovation of the acoustics and lighting for the interior Gymnasium.
For this project, the Broughton Construction Team has made a commitment to the Washington DC – Ward 7 and 8 communities by setting significant goals for inclusion:
- At least 35% of all construction dollars will be awarded to DSLBD Certified Business Enterprise minority-owned (MBE), women-owned (WBE) and Washington DC local-based small businesses.
- A minimum of 30% of all hours worked on construction projects will be by a Minority business
- 50% of all hours worked on the project will be by Washington DC Residents
