Amidon-Bowen Elementary School – Phase 1 Modernization
Broughton Construction has been selected to provide DCPS (District of Columbia Public Schools) an interior fit out of existing classrooms, corridors and student common areas plus new MEP Systems. Construction includes but is not limited to Concrete, Masonry, Metal Fabrications, Doors, Interior Glazing, Finishes and FF&E. These Phase 1 projects are often referred to as the “Summer Miracle”, having only eight weeks to complete almost an entire school. Broughton came through again for a third consecutive year performing these types of projects, being well ahead of the needed completion dates and within budget; DGS called in Broughton to complete other schools that were not going as well for the other Phase 1 Schools. We were able to help complete the other schools as well as our own by the required date so the kids could return to school. Our success can be attributed to the DGS motto “It is all about the kids” and we will continue to take on these challenges every year we are asked.
